About Maggie
Hi, I’m Maggie, and I’m a Master’s-level therapist intern completing my studies at the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Social Work. I believe therapy begins with feeling heard, understood, and accepted. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can be yourself, explore what you’re experiencing, and feel empowered to move toward meaningful change.
I’m passionate about supporting adolescents, adults, and families navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and other life challenges that may feel overwhelming or difficult to manage. My previous experience working with children and families in an inpatient setting, along with my experience as a social work intern in hospice care, has deepened my understanding of the importance of compassion, connection, and individualized support during some of life’s most challenging moments.
I believe therapy is a collaborative process. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I work alongside clients to understand their experiences, recognize patterns that may be affecting their well-being, and develop practical tools that support their individual goals.
Therapeutic Approach
My therapeutic approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, strengths-based therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I integrate these approaches based on each client’s individual needs, helping clients explore connections between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing practical strategies for navigating challenges and working toward their goals.
My work is also grounded in trauma-informed care. I prioritize safety, choice, collaboration, and autonomy throughout the therapeutic process. I recognize that every person’s experiences and responses to difficult circumstances are unique, and I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their experiences at a pace that feels right for them.
