About Charlotte

I’m Charlotte, and I am a Master’s Level Therapist currently completing my master’s degree in social work at the University of Denver. I am passionate about supporting people who are experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief and loss, and substance use challenges.

I believe that seeking therapy is courageous, and I want to honor that in all of my clients. My work is rooted in compassion, unconditional positive regard, and an ability to be fully present. Simply put, come just as you are and we’ll do this together.

I approach sessions with genuine curiosity about who my clients are, their experiences, how those experiences have impacted them, and what they would like to change. I don’t expect clients to come into therapy already having all of those answers. We will work together to uncover them and create a path forward. My goal is to build trust first and, when appropriate, gently challenge clients in support of their goals.

I believe deeply in the power of human connection. It is important to me that my clients feel like they are talking to another human, not a blank slate. I show up authentically, using expressiveness, humor, and empathy to walk alongside clients in their journeys.

I also have extensive knowledge of 12-step-based recovery. While that is not the focus of my therapeutic practice, I may be a good fit for clients looking for a therapist with a deep understanding of those programs.

Therapeutic Approach

I believe healing is a mind-and-body practice. In addition to tuning into our thoughts, behaviors, attachments, and other cognitive experiences, I believe it is important to notice what our bodies communicate through physical sensations.

In our work together, I may incorporate interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I am also learning to use Somatic Experiencing techniques because I am passionate about the mind-body connection and how it can help clients build practical coping skills.

I want the therapeutic relationship to feel reciprocal and welcome feedback from my clients as we build a foundation of trust and understanding.

As a social worker, I also bring an understanding of societal systems and the ways they can affect mental health. I use psychoeducation to help clients develop a deeper understanding of their experiences and mental health.
